Viva Gaia Street Band (also known as Viva Gaia Carnivale) is a multicultural explosion of music and dance, a kaleidoscope of colors, costumes, rhythm, and movement. The troupe is well known on Discovery Island at Disney's Animal Kingdom, where they lead a Caribbean street party with energetic melodies, vibrant masquerade costumes, and interactive dance. Their music is rooted in traditional rhythms of equatorial regions — Caribbean steel drum, Pan-African jazz, and percussion indigenous to world music — drawing from Australian aboriginal, Mexican, Peruvian, Native American, Balinese, and Indonesian folk styles. Their high-energy interactive performance features the latest Latin Tropical and Pop, Caribbean and Brazilian, plus Top 40 hits.
