About Music and the Mocko Jumby

Music and the Mocko Jumby is a Caribbean-themed ensemble act described as the perfect mix of color, masquerade, costumes, rhythm, music, and dance. The act combines steel pan instruments, brass horns, strings and percussion with elaborate handmade costumes, professional dancers ("calypso cuties"), fire-eating performances, and Mocko Jumbie stilt walkers. Rooted in the tradition of Moko Jumbies — stilt walkers from an African tradition dating back 1,000 years to Ghana — the act delivers a full Carnival-like procession experience. Available in Caribbean carnival-style or African tribal costume themes.
